Flooring & Tile Installation Program
This program will provide students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to start a rewarding new career in Flooring and Tiling. It will focus on installing, replacing and repairing a variety of floor coverings in residential, commercial and institutional settings such as carpeting, sheet and luxury vinyl tile, pre-finished solid and engineered wood, laminate, ceramic floor and wall tile.

Program Description
This program will provide students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to start a rewarding new career in Flooring. It will focus on installing, replacing and repairing a variety of floor coverings in residential, commercial and institutional settings such as carpeting, sheet and luxury vinyl tile, pre-finished solid and engineered wood, laminate, ceramic floor and wall tile.
Students will also learn estimating and blueprint reading, as well as how to use tools specific to the trade such as carpet stretchers and trimmers, hardwood nailer and saws, tile saws, trowels and accessories, underlayment’s and floor preparation products. They will work alongside seven other trades allowing them to be jobsite confident. Our program also includes off site visits to suppliers, manufacturers and job sites to expose students to current industry standards.
Career Opportunities
Upon completion, successful graduates will be able to start working in the industry. Every effort will be made to assist in job placement. Career opportunities are available through flooring contractors and retailers in new home or renovation sector, as well as commercial work in office, hospital and hotel environments can be explored. As a Floor Installer and Tiler you will work mostly indoors in climate controlled environments. Once students have mastered the trade, they may become self employed contractors operating their own business.

Admission Information
Admission requirements
- Grade 10 Math (C or U)
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (18 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing.
Applicants must also be residents of Ontario and eligible to work in Canada.
